Premier League Preview

WEST HAM UNITED v TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS: West  Ham will want to really get their season going with a positive result against Tottenham. Last time out at home they overcame quite a lacklustre Huddersfield side but will do very well to get any kind of result against a very confident Tottenham who beat Dortmund and Everton convincingly last week

Prediction: Tottenham 3-1

BURNLEY v HUDDERSFIELD: This game has “draw” written all over it. Both sides have been solid but far from convincing so far this season, so if I had to pick a winner it would have to be Burnley. This is simply because they can be tough to beat at Turf Moor, but a draw seems the most likely

Prediction: 1-1
EVERTON v BOURNEMOUTH: Despite mass spending this season, Everton have been poor. 2 goals in their opening 5 games shows they’ve haven’t replaced Lukaku. Luckily for them though, today they come up against a Bournemouth side who really do struggle to keep a clean sheet and have done so since promotion to the Premier League. Bournemouth have every chance to get 3 points today, especially if Defoe takes his chances

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1

MANCHESTER CITY v CRYSTAL PALACE:  “Set up the barricades” will be Hodgson’s pre-match talk because he knows they’ll be under the kosh for long periods of the game. Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus have been on fire so far this season and have already bagged 9 goals between them and I can honestly see them bagging a couple each. Palace’s goalless start to the season to continue

Prediction: Manchester City 5-0

SOUTHAMPTON v MANCHESTER UNITED: Southampton will be hoping to garner any kind of result today against red hot Manchester United who have already scored 16 goals while Southampton have only managed 4 in their opening 5. but results between these two sides are usually close affairs and it will be no different again this time around

Prediction:  2-1 Manchester United

STOKE CITY v CHELSEA: Can Chelsea do it on a cold rainy day in Stoke?  You betcha they can and a big win midweek in the Carabao Cup will do nothing but help their confidence even if it wasn’t their first 11. If Batshuayi gets a start, expect more goals from the Belgian. But saying this, Stoke can be very tough to beat at the Britannia so Chelsea won’t have it all their own way and will have to really work for the 3 pints today

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0

SWANSEA v WATFORD: Despite their indifferent start to the season I really fancy Swansea for the win today and will be with a full compliment of players to choose from whilst Watford will be without Prodl, Hoban and Britos for the trip to Wales.  Swansea will dominate possession and look to press and put pressure on the away side and I think an early home goal for Swansea will set the tone for a tight win

Prediction: Swansea 1-0

LEICESTER CITY v LIVERPOOL:  Leicester City will be very confident of a win at home here despite the visitors being the self proclaimed ‘big boys’ of England Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp had a full transfer window to try and rectify their defensive frailties but failed to do so and have really been punished, conceding 9 goals in the opening 5 games. If they don’t improve here I can see Leicester winning a high scoring game

Prediction: Leicester 3-2

BRIGHTON v NEWCASTLE UNITED: It’s a battle of the promoted clubs at the AMEX and Brighton will be looking for their second win of the season after their win over WBA on matchday 4, but came back down to earth with a loss to Bournemouth last time out. Newcastle United lost their opening two games of the season but have won 3 on the bounce since and are full of confidence heading into this match, they’ll be looking to make it 4 and not many people will doubt them getting the win here

Prediction: Newcastle 3-1

ARSENAL v WBA: This is a game Arsenal really should be winning at home, but it all depends on which Arsenal decide to show up. Last time these sides met WBA ran out 3-1 winners at the Hawthorns and their fans will be dreaming of another positive result, but I think they’ll have to wait a little longer for that win.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-1
